We're kind of busy around here.

We're about Our Father's business. That means worship, service, education, and finding new ways to serve God and our neighbors here in Alexander county and around the world. Let us show you just a couple of ways we do these things.

Sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ around the world!

Click here to find out more about Carsyn Lackey and her experience this year travelling the world to share the gospel! Carsyn is from right here in Alexander County and Friendship Lutheran was blessed to be able to support part of her mission trip. God is up to exciting things in our world and the Spirit is moving!

We will have free hot dog dinners available with all the fixin's (this IS Carolina after all!) along with Treats and maybe a few tricks as well! Everyone is welcome to help us celebrate the Season of Harvest. and thank God for the many blessings we have received this year.

Honoring those who served!

Veterans-Day-Flag-2.jpg

Veteran's Day falls on a Sunday in 2018. Please join us for worship and a special lunch afterwards to honor all our Veterans, those who have passed on to greener fields and those who are still with us. May God bless all who willingly sacrifice to preserve our freedoms.

If you have anyone to add to our slide show from last year please send us a picture along with branch of service and dates served.

Example Three:
Friendship Fitness Trail

Alexander County is a wonderful place to be outside - unless you're a pedestrian on one of our notoriously narrow North Carolina roads - yet we know that walking is one or the best exercizes we can do to keep our bodies fit for service. Many of our neighbors have no land to walk on safe from speeding automobiles, and live too far from fitness facilities in Taylorsville or in Hickory.

So we've been given a grant by our North Carolina Synod to construct a fitness trail to encompass our property - with a bit of creativity we can envision a trail almost a mile and a half long - safe for children and pets and families to walk together. It's a gift we can give ourselves and our neighbors - signs of God's gracious love. We aim to be a blessing - not a 'spiritual' one either, but a real, concrete blessing to everyone around us - in Spirit and in Truth.
